On our two hour tour you will be told about the past that history book tend to ignore.
Gunfights, Lynchings, Murders, & Brothels
Stops include the Rogers Hotel and the Ellis County Courthouse, was well as lesser known addresses in the downtown area.
At this time, we do NOT explore inside any buildings.
Longtime Educator and local Historian, Doug Reid, provides an informative, interesting, and maybe a little bit spooky tour.
The Tour will last around two(2) hours, depending on the number of participants, the weather, or other downtown activities.
The tour is comprised of multiple short walks. Total distance 0.68 miles.
Benches are located at/near many of the stop
There is no guarantee on seeing a ghost, or capturing something on camera, but many strange things are reported regularly.
We will be outside for the majority of the Tour, so dress for the weather, and wear comfortable shoes.
Don't forget to bring your camera/phone to capture spirits we might encounter.
The Tour is best suited for participants 13 and up. However, any history-lover or ghost hunter is welcome. Early Elementary students have a hard time completing the two hour tour.
At this time, we will NOT be able to explore the inside of any building.
Restrooms are available at the start of the Tour, and at a midway point during the Tour
